Why train to become a mental health first aider?
Application
Everyone has mental health, just like physical health. Mental health issues can impact anyone unexpectedly. Despite progress, stigma remains, and society often lacks the knowledge to care for mental health as we do physical health. Consequently, individuals may feel unsure about supporting those facing mental health challenges or finding the right resources for themselves.
What is it?
Mental Health First Aid England training equips individuals to support those facing mental health challenges. Participants learn to identify signs, offer initial help, and direct individuals to professional support. This course enhances understanding of mental health and boosts confidence to positively impact communities or workplaces, fostering a supportive environment for friends, family, and colleagues.
Will I be a therapist?
Our MHFA course does not train you to be a therapist but equips you to listen, reassure, and respond effectively in critical situations, potentially preventing crises. You will learn to identify mental health warning signs, support individuals safely, and empower them to seek necessary recovery resources, including self-help materials, therapy services, and support groups.
